Dear Bierbaum Families,

Happy Friday Bierbaum Families!!!  This is the start of our Spring Break.  The students come back to school on April 4th.  We hope that all of you can enjoy the break with some family time with your children.  When we return, we will be in the stretch run for the year. I hope to get a list of important dates to end the year to everyone by the next Friday Newsletter.  I am working on finalizing a couple of dates still.

This next part is very important to keep everyone safe at parent pick up and drop off.  The first thing is PLEASE, PLEASE slow down when picking up and dropping off your child.  We have some cars that enter and leave our lots at very fast speeds. My concern is that a student or adult will get hit.  Secondly, when dropping your child off in the morning, please stay in the single lane and pull all the way forward before letting your child out of the car.  Once you have dropped off your child, please wait for the car in front of you to pull away before you pull forward. Again we do not want a child to be hit by a car or for an accident to occur.

Mehlville is offering an incredibly unique opportunity for their students at the Science Center.  For a fee, our students have the chance to have an evening packed with excitement and activities that concludes with spending the night at the science center in the planetarium.  This is open to all elementary schools in Mehlville, and there are limited numbers. We will have adult supervision there with the students, so they do not have to have a parent attend with them. The link below is a flyer with more details.

Finally, I am excited to let everyone know about an event we are teaming up with Forder to help host.  On April 24th, Forder and Bierbaum will host a Family First Game Night at Forder Elementary. The purpose of the night is to provide information to parents while allowing students to have an enjoyable night.  The evening will consist of a pizza dinner followed by two informational sessions for parents. While the parents are in the informational sessions any students 5 and older will be able to play games with supervision, and there will also be child care available for any children younger than 5. This will enable parents to get information without any distractions.  The topics are very relevant to many of the things that we deal with both at school and at home. They Include:

  • MIddle School Transition

  • How to Prevent Summer Regression

  • Addressing Homework Frustration

  • Internet Safety (Specifically the use of Social Media)

The form below is the RSVP for the evening so we know how much pizza to order. Please return to school if you would like to attend.
